The Duty to Become Peaceful

Hi all,

Today I am writing about Peace. We wish Peace upon people as if it were a outside entity that can descend upon people, or as something that other people can give you. Well this is not so. Your Peace is your responsibility. Peace will come because you order your life so it becomes a fertile place for Peace to grow. And Peace will come because you live in accordance with higher spititual values, such as forgiveness and loving your enemy, rather than give into to baser human values such as revenge and hatred.

If you continue to seek revenge and nurse grievances and feel hatred, no-one, but no-one in this world, or even God can "give "you Peace.

That said, I also said that a duty lies upon you to create your life in such a way that it becomes a fertile ground wherein Peace can dwell. Because other people can diminish your path to Peace or even try to destroy it. If they are are full of hatred and bitterness they may feel very envious of any Peace you have achieved and may try to destroy or diminish your Peace.

If you are spiritually able to help them do so, if you wish. But if you do not have the spiritual strength to stand up to these destructive people you have the right, and perhaps even the duty, to avoid them. It serves no highter purpose to allow your Peace to be destroyed.

As that beautiful poem Desiderata says "Avoid loud and aggressive persons for the are vexations to the soul" And your first duty is to your own Soul.

Maybe very advanced spiritual beings such as Jesus and Buddha etc. could be with such persons and maintain their own Peace and even calm people down. But most people are not in that place so the first thing you must preserve is your own Peace.

There can never be Peace on this planet while it does not dwell in your Soul.

So start there.

Pax and as always Blessed Be,

KK

Krystal Klere's Christmas Address 2006

Hi all,

First I will say Merry Yuletide, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays as many of my other blogs now point to this one for the Christmas Address.

Let me also say at the start many thanks to you all for your kind thoughts, blessings and gifts during this my Crone year, and also for the Christmas/Yuletide presents I have yet to open. I wish you all Peace, Comfort, Joy and Love now and always.

My husband and I have parted officially. I call it the parting of the ways. Of course there is a certain amount of discord bertween us because parting always hurts. But there is not enmity and I have already received a Christmas card from him. According to my religion , Paganism, a couple stay together "as long as love lasts"*. This to me seems to be the most loving and civilised way of handling human relationships. To tie people into to a loveless marriage. or union, on account of "duty" seems to be quite barbaric to me and almost guaranteed to lead to resentment and hostility. Still some people seem to accept this idea.

I hope you are surrounded by people you love this Wintertide, and by people who love you. For me this not does not have to mean blood family. To me the spiritual family is much more important. And that includes people who are there in the flesh and in the spirit.

If you are alone make sure to love yourself. Eat well and do things that give you pleasure. You deserve it. And remember if others do not appear to love you, or appreciate you, it is their loss. The lotus is within all of us. So love yourself this Christmas. And if you do get down remember is it really just one more day.

We live in a materialist capitalistic world where Mammon seems to rule more at Christmas that the spirit of Jesus. And the ringing of cash tills is more common than the rings of jingle bells.

So in the spirit of Christmas try to remember some-one less fortunate that yourself and do them a good turn. (And there always is some-one like that) And in the spirit of Humanity try to do this everyday for the rest of your life.

If you wish to donate, my chosen charity this year is the Childrens Hospice International charity who do amazing work.

May the God, Goddess or Life, (whichever you believe in) , bless you all the Christmas/Yuletide/Holiday and in all the years to come.

And as always,

Blessed be,

KK

PS* When I say "the end of love" in a relationship I am referring to personal and romantic love. I still Love my husband as a aspect of the Divine that I have had close knowledge of. That can never change. If that were not so, in my opinion. it would never have been really Love.

Pearl of Wisdom 4/10/06

Hi all,

My thought for the day comes from the words of Jesus.

Jesus said, "Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you. Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you" (Luke 6:27-28).

Until next time,

Blessed be,

Childhood Sexual Abuse, Rape and Prostitution

Hi all,

Yes, I know I said that all I would be publishing for a while would only be thoughts for the day but something happened yesterday that made me decide to update this blog.

The reason I decided to update this blog is with regard to prostitution and childhood sexual abuse. Is there a connection I hear you ask? Well the answer is - yes, there can be. And the reason I raise the question is that yesterday I attended a psychology conference and the subject matter was the connection, (if any), between childhood sexual abuse adult sex workers.

I am a qualified social worker and worked in the past in an outreach project in London that helped sex workers, (aka prostitutes). One thing that became apparent to me when I worked in the project was the high incidence of women who worked as prostitutes who had been sexually abused as children. About 70% at the project I worked in.

The theory goes something like this. Women who are sexually abused as children become conditioned to see themselves as sex objects and that is the only way they can get "love". Upon becoming adults they still, (maybe subconsciously) , see themselves as sex objects, but when they demand money for performing sexual services they feel empowered because now they are making money by being sexual objects, and are in charge and not an object of abuse. Of course in reality they are repeating a pattern they were conditioned to believe in i.e. that their role in the world is to be a sexual object.

I actually believe that this theory makes a greal deal of sense. Where I part company with some more radical feminists is that I still believe that if a woman believes that becoming a prostitute, at the time in life she becomes one, is the best option for her then I think we should honour that choice. We should respect anyone doing the best they can for themselves at the time.

When the time comes when she is able to, or needs to, move on from that role then she should be enabled to do so. But for me prostitution remains a valid life choice as long as a woman wants to do it and is not forced to do so through pimping, drug addiction or poverty. (In other words being forced by external circumstances).

If she chooses to become a prostitute because of where she is at internally at the time then that choice should be respected.

I also have no time for the patriachal religions and their take on prostitution.

Prostitution is not a "sin" is the accepted sense of the word. The only "sin" involved is in those who exploit prostitutes for money. And neither is she a victim to be pitied. She made the best choice she could at the time and should be respected for that.

As for those who see her as some sort of vile repository of dirt, sin and immorality to be viewed with horror and revulsion then I would suggest this. That they are projecting their own twisted view of sexuality onto her, and that in their minds, whether this is conscious or not, sexuality itself is dirty. Therefore since the prostitute has experienced so much of it she must be filthy indeed.

Contrast this attitude to the matriachal period of history when sex was considered sacred and prostitutes where considered priestesses as they are today in my religion - Paganism.

No, if anyone should be regarded as the "sinners" in this whole sorry affair it should be those who defile young girls and cause them to go down the route of prostitution to begin with. And also all rapists and paedophiles everywhere.

But even then I do not even believe these people to be "sinners" in the conventional sense because I do not believe in "sin". Yes, certainly what they do is evil and they are responsible for it. And the reparation for what they have done, and their own healing, is indeed their responsibility.

But that aside and with regard to the prostitutes. Let us honour them for dealing with the pain of childhood abuse in a creative way that does not hurt more children. And let us also honour the men who go to them as clients for dealing with their sexual needs in a civilised way and not through emotionally hurting, or raping, other unwilling women.

As always,

Blessed be,

KK

Pearl of Wisdom 2/10/06

Hi all,

My first thought for the day is this :-

"Don't give that which is holy to the dogs, neither throw your pearls before swine, lest perhaps they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces." Matthew 7:6

And I also saw another saying and contemplated it and I knew then that Jesus believed in Karma.

"Therefore, by their fruits you will know them." Matthew 7:20

As always,

Blessed be

Hi all,

I am both a writer and a political activist and this is a thought for those who think there is a dilemma between loving peace and being political active.

Pearls of Wisdom Commences

Hi all,

Sorry I have been away so long. I have been concentrating on my books and as I have so little time on my hands at the moment, for the foreseeable future I will be posting a thought for the day rather than posting an online diary.

I have had lots of emails asking how I am and also to ask me to write my blog - so thank you all. I am very very well!

I hope my thoughts for the day will help comfort, guide and heal you. (I will be calling them Pearls of Wisdom but believe me this is what other people have insisted on calling them - not myself!)

Much love as always,

Blessed be,

KK

Love Ye One Another

Hi all,

Jesus said "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another"John 13:34-35 (The Holy Bible)

Yesterday I was on a Treasure Hunt with friends in the middle of London and we came upon a man lying collapsed in the middle of the pavement. This was about 7.00 on a Tuesday evening. And do you know what people did? They just walked around him. I was shocked and horrified. And I don't think it is just to do with London. I have come across similar things in other foreign large cities.

Anyhow we did not pass him by. He appeared to be drunk and asleep, but I am not a doctor and could not say that he was categorically. In any event, even if he was, he still needed help. So we summoned a couple of Community Police Support Officers and they took over looking after him.

If I ask you to do anything on this blog it is this: please do not walk by on the other side. One day it may be you, or some-one you love needing help. Love isn't just a word, or a feeling, ultimately it is an action. So I would ask of you only this: please live love.

To quote George Bernard Shaw:-

"I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the community, and as long as I live it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work the more I live.

Life is no 'brief candle' for me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for a short moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations."

I could not agree more with this statement.

On another note about action. I am going to the 30th Festival for Mind, Body and Spirit this weekend with a friend of another religion. It will be fantastic because I went to the first one when I was a graduate student in London in 1977!

I'll report back!

Until then,

Blessed be,

KK

There are Two Sides to Everything (at Least!)

Hi all,

I am still working on the birthday entry as I want to post some photo's in the members area and I have not had all of my birthday celebrations yet. So that is a work is progress at the moment!

Just for today's entry I wanted to concentrate on the Pagan belief that there are two sides, (at least), to everything. Light and dark are two sides of the same coin, and not two separate, and warring entities, as perceived by some religions for instance. There is light and shadow in everything, and both, in the right circumstances are correct.

Being as I am a believer in the paranormal and spiritual worlds I thought it was only right that I investigated the skeptical side of things. So last night I attended a meeting for skeptics and listened to a talk by a speaker who was a physicist and also believed in the paranormal. Then there were questions and answers. It was incredibly interesting and I had some very detailed, (and a little bit heated), discussions with people.

The picture that you see above emphasizes to two predominant sides of human nature. The dragon (the shadow) side and the fairy (the light or iridescent) side. And both are valid and necessary.

So for the skeptics :-

"Materialists and mad men never have doubts". (G.K.Chesterton)

And for those who claim to know, (as opposed to believe) :-

"Doubt is not a pleasant condition but certainty is an absurd one". (Voltaire)

Until next time,

Blessed be,

KK

PS Whilst researching on another subject I also came across two other quotes I thought worthy enough to bring to your attetnion. As you know I recently turned 50 and so am entering my croning years. Many changes have occurred and some of them have thrown me. In a rapidly changing world many people are fearful but the Universe works in mysterious ways and for those who fear change read this:-

"What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the Master calls....the butterfly."---Richard Bach, author

And finally to skeptics this:-

"For those who believe, no proof is necessary, for those who do not believe, no proof is possible."--John & Lyn St. Clair Thomas, Eyes of the Beholder.

I'm a Crone Now! Happy Fiftieth Birthday to Me!

Hi all,

In this past week two significant things have happened. I celebrated my 50th birthday and an acquaintance of mine, (I would not call him a friend), died.

These two things happening in the same week and the way in which they happened have caused me to reflect upon life a bit more than usual.

First of all I would like to say a very big "Thank You!" to the personalised Krystal Klere bottle of champagne sent to me my Krystal Klere Internet Fan Club. (And I didn't even know I had one!) This was organised by the Acting Moderator Neil. Thank you Neil.

I drank the champagne on the eve of my birthday along with my husband before we went out to dinner with other friends. I had woken up in the room where I was born earlier that day before coming back to London.

I had lots of fantastic presents including ones from both my ex-husbands and two ex-boyfriends! I also got a fantastic present called "The Orgasmatron" from a group of girlfriends, some of whom had been lovers of mine in the past.

I had presents from Pagan friends and also from my foster children and God children. I also had many others including 350 emails wishing me "Happy Birthday". However the most amazing present I got, which came collectively from some cyber friends I have, (I run a cyber "agony aunt" column), was 50 gold and silver pieces of jewellery hanging from a "Birthday Tree"! Amazing!

I have had five birthday parties already with different groups of friends and have two more to go. (I am going to one this evening). And I have one final dinner with my husband and his last and most important present!

So I want to thank everyone who sent me a present, a card, an e-card, well wishes of any type and also everyone who organised or attended any events held to celebrate my 50th birthday. My life is awash with love and I am very appreciative of that fact.

So thank you everyone and as always,

Until next time.

Blessed be

Poetry Book out by the Summer Solstice!

Hi all,

As many of you know who visit my private website my new, (and first) , poetry book will be out by the Summer Solstice. That is the 21st June 2006 in the UK.

If you want to join my private website please email me at krystalklere@hotmail.com .

I am also in the process of setting up my own commercial website for the purposes of selling my book since I understand that Blogger does not support commercial activity, which I respect because it is free.

Talking about free. Have many of you noticed how many free things there are on the Internet? I mean really legally free, without strings? And I don't just mean a free trial. There are websites that offer free web design and free hosting to private entrepreneurs and small businesses and I mean completely banner and ad free.

I must admit when I first looked into this I was a bit suspicious having been brought up on the premise that "There is no such thing as a free lunch".

Of course I knew that in the non-for-profit sector that this is totally untrue. Many people volunteer their money and their time for charitable causes. (I know because I do). But the idea that people would volunteer their resources for free so that other people could make money is a new, and extremely uplifting, idea for me.

Though much of the Internet is used for bizarre or disreputable means is undoubted, it has also unleashed a spirit of generosity in humankind that many of us believed possible, but not feasible perhaps, in this Incarnation.

That said I am glad to be alive now to see it. Perhaps it will knock the capitalist myth on it's head forever: that human beings primary motivation is to get back more that they put in to something - commonly known as making a profit.

Don't get me wrong: I am not against a person profitting from their labours, but let's face it, there is a difference between making an honest profit, and profiteering, which is what I believe would happen if capitlism was unfettered. That said, to me the twin tyrannies of Communism and Fascism are, I believe, two sides of the same coin. Both of them, under the guise of bettering mankind, really seek the same thing: domination of ones fellow man.

Sometimes preventing some-one's freedom, like restraining the criminal for example, may be necessary. But to desire to dominate fellow human beings for the sake of it is inherently evil.

I see the desire to have power over people, (as opposed to having power over one's own life), to be the greater evil in history, than the desire for money, (or greed).

Winston Churchil said 'Democracy is a very bad form of government. Unfortunately all the others are so much worse.' And I agree.

The picture that you see in this post was designed for me by a reader. I'm not sure I can see the future, but I will sure as hell try to contribute to it positively!

Thanks for all the birthday wishes you have sent me already. If you want to send more you can use the email address above.

I'm fifty this month. I'll be becoming a Crone soon!

I'm not giving the exact date for privacy reasons. I love you all but there are some very strange people on the net.

Check this out

Blessed be,

KK

The Cost of War

Hi all,

My new and first anthology of poetry will soon be available. So please hold on and be patient!

Having got Valentine's Day out of the way I am now concentrating upon my fiftieth birthday so the book may be out in about the Summer. Stay tuned and I will update you.

In the meantime I am having an early birthday celebration with my ex-second husband at a Champagne Bar in London this evening! Life is strange but immensely exciting!

Also, I was checking out some websites and found this on David Icke's. It's just shows you that people can be radically different but still united on some things like being against the Iraq war.

Check the running Cost of the Iraqi War here !!!

Shocking and in Britain this lady is still fighting to get Herceptin to save her life.

Blessed be,

KK

Merry Christmas (belated) and a Happy New Year!

Hi all,

Sorry, I have been a bit busy recently with my University work so I will wish you all a belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! As you know many of you are now members of my Poetry website but because of copyright issues this is a pay only site and members have to sign a disclaimer that they will not copy my poetry. Which you have done willingly! My Poetry book will be out later this year. If you wish to become a member of my paid Poetry site please contact me.

On a personal note it is my 50th birthday this March and I will be waking up in the room where I was born. How many people can arrange that? I can do this because the house that I was born in is now a Guest House. I think that is Fate.

I hope my picture brings you a smile and as always,

Blessed be,

KK
