Poetry Book out by the Summer Solstice!

Hi all,

As many of you know who visit my private website my new, (and first) , poetry book will be out by the Summer Solstice. That is the 21st June 2006 in the UK.

If you want to join my private website please email me at krystalklere@hotmail.com .

I am also in the process of setting up my own commercial website for the purposes of selling my book since I understand that Blogger does not support commercial activity, which I respect because it is free.

Talking about free. Have many of you noticed how many free things there are on the Internet? I mean really legally free, without strings? And I don't just mean a free trial. There are websites that offer free web design and free hosting to private entrepreneurs and small businesses and I mean completely banner and ad free.

I must admit when I first looked into this I was a bit suspicious having been brought up on the premise that "There is no such thing as a free lunch".

Of course I knew that in the non-for-profit sector that this is totally untrue. Many people volunteer their money and their time for charitable causes. (I know because I do). But the idea that people would volunteer their resources for free so that other people could make money is a new, and extremely uplifting, idea for me.

Though much of the Internet is used for bizarre or disreputable means is undoubted, it has also unleashed a spirit of generosity in humankind that many of us believed possible, but not feasible perhaps, in this Incarnation.

That said I am glad to be alive now to see it. Perhaps it will knock the capitalist myth on it's head forever: that human beings primary motivation is to get back more that they put in to something - commonly known as making a profit.

Don't get me wrong: I am not against a person profitting from their labours, but let's face it, there is a difference between making an honest profit, and profiteering, which is what I believe would happen if capitlism was unfettered. That said, to me the twin tyrannies of Communism and Fascism are, I believe, two sides of the same coin. Both of them, under the guise of bettering mankind, really seek the same thing: domination of ones fellow man.

Sometimes preventing some-one's freedom, like restraining the criminal for example, may be necessary. But to desire to dominate fellow human beings for the sake of it is inherently evil.

I see the desire to have power over people, (as opposed to having power over one's own life), to be the greater evil in history, than the desire for money, (or greed).

Winston Churchil said 'Democracy is a very bad form of government. Unfortunately all the others are so much worse.' And I agree.

The picture that you see in this post was designed for me by a reader. I'm not sure I can see the future, but I will sure as hell try to contribute to it positively!

Thanks for all the birthday wishes you have sent me already. If you want to send more you can use the email address above.

I'm fifty this month. I'll be becoming a Crone soon!

I'm not giving the exact date for privacy reasons. I love you all but there are some very strange people on the net.

Check this out

Blessed be,

KK
