The Duty to Become Peaceful

Hi all,

Today I am writing about Peace. We wish Peace upon people as if it were a outside entity that can descend upon people, or as something that other people can give you. Well this is not so. Your Peace is your responsibility. Peace will come because you order your life so it becomes a fertile place for Peace to grow. And Peace will come because you live in accordance with higher spititual values, such as forgiveness and loving your enemy, rather than give into to baser human values such as revenge and hatred.

If you continue to seek revenge and nurse grievances and feel hatred, no-one, but no-one in this world, or even God can "give "you Peace.

That said, I also said that a duty lies upon you to create your life in such a way that it becomes a fertile ground wherein Peace can dwell. Because other people can diminish your path to Peace or even try to destroy it. If they are are full of hatred and bitterness they may feel very envious of any Peace you have achieved and may try to destroy or diminish your Peace.

If you are spiritually able to help them do so, if you wish. But if you do not have the spiritual strength to stand up to these destructive people you have the right, and perhaps even the duty, to avoid them. It serves no highter purpose to allow your Peace to be destroyed.

As that beautiful poem Desiderata says "Avoid loud and aggressive persons for the are vexations to the soul" And your first duty is to your own Soul.

Maybe very advanced spiritual beings such as Jesus and Buddha etc. could be with such persons and maintain their own Peace and even calm people down. But most people are not in that place so the first thing you must preserve is your own Peace.

There can never be Peace on this planet while it does not dwell in your Soul.

So start there.

Pax and as always Blessed Be,

KK
